Shoe Review: Saucony Triumph 24|ATPU Foam Upgrade for Daily Miles

Saucony’s Triumph 24 marks one of the biggest changes the line has seen in years, the update makes the shoe feel much more modern. The key change is the switch to a new ATPU-based foam, branded as IncrediLUX, which gives the shoe a lighter, softer, and more energetic ride while keeping the plush, max-cushion feel the Triumph is known for.

What changed

The Triumph 24 keeps its role as Saucony’s premium daily trainer, but the ride has been reworked to feel livelier and more responsive than past versions. Compared with earlier Triumph models, the new foam makes the shoe less dull and more fun underfoot, while still staying protective for long easy runs and recovery days.

With the lighter foam, the shoes weighted much lighter with the men's shoes in around 250g (EU42.5), and women's around 216g (EU39), which is light for a max-cushion trainer, and it keeps a high-stack setup with a 10 mm drop and a very thick midsole. That means it still feels like a traditional cushioned trainer, but with a more balanced and contemporary ride than before.

Ride feel

The first feel of the new Saucony Triumph 24 is definitely plush and soft, cushioned, and highly comfortable, with noticeably more bounce than earlier versions. The new IncrediLUX foam gives it a more energetic feel, so the shoe can handle easy miles with less of that overly mushy sensation that sometimes comes with big-cushion shoes.

The Triumph 24 is best understood as a shoe for relaxed running, long slow distance, recovery sessions, and even all-day walking comfort. It is still not a tempo shoe, and also not suitable for faster pace workouts. Instead,

The Fit and upper

Fit is described as true to size, with a more spacious and padded upper than before. The shoe has a secure feel around the heel and collar, while the tongue and interior padding add to the step-in comfort.

Breathability is also better, which helps the shoe feel more usable in warmer conditions. That makes it a more practical max-cushion trainer, especially for runners who want comfort without the upper feeling too heavy or stuffy.

Who it suits

The Triumph 24 looks strongest for runners who want a soft, protective shoe for everyday mileage. Heavier runners, heel strikers, and people who prefer lots of cushioning will probably get the most out of it, since the shoe’s geometry and foam are built for comfort over speed.

For runners who are not into higher drops, you might feel your knees when wearing Saucony Triumph 24. The shoes have a 10 mm drop, which is relatively high, and that might not suit everyone's biomechanics, even though these pairs are the best Triumph yet. That makes the shoe sound like a strong update overall, but one that still depends on whether the geometry works for your stride.

Overall impression

The final verdict is that the Triumph 24 is a meaningful upgrade: more cushioned, lighter, bouncier, and more versatile than before, while still staying true to its role as a premium max-cushion daily trainer. It is not trying to be a speed shoe, but it does a better job than previous Triumphs of feeling lively as well as comfortable.
